The core functions of a hospital system with almost 40% of the medical and patient care that is d the hospital system is managed by nurses. Doctors account for another 20% of the workload. This workload on doctors and nurses can be offset by the introduction of General Duty Assistants. A trained General Duty Assistant can decrease the workload and also add value to the value chain healthcare delivery system by handling some of the major functions involving patient care.
